The pandemic is highlighting people in all sorts of new roles and isolated instances everyday. As public places close down, they take the idle time as time to clean and wipe down surfaces hopefully making them “virus-free”. Dateline – Suffolk, England.

The Newmarket Library in Suffolk took the downtime as a deep cleaning opportunity. They hired a temporary cleaner charged with dusting and wiping down all of the books, bays, and shelving. When one of the regular library employees stopped in for a check on the cleaning person’s progress, they were surprised and overwhelmed to say the least.

The cleaner had removed the books to wipe them down along with the shelves for 18.5 bays so far. It was easy to track the well-meaning worker’s progress because the cleaner replaced all of the books on shelves BY SIZE.

The regular library staff will have work waiting for them when the library re-opens to reorganize the books on shelves.
