MMeM, Vol.10 Issue 22 – Crosswords SOLVED
I
like to do crosswords. They seem to calm me down when I’m stressed or anxious. Funny thing was that I never did crosswords before, but over the past 2-3 years I have really delved into them.
Whether it’s a crossword from the New York Times or USA Today, there’s a common thread that I’ve noticed throughout them. Building crossword puzzles has to be daunthing and just downright hard. Because of this fact, there are a handful of words that I see appearing in all kinds of crossword puzzles over and over, and over again.
Whether it’s the local paper, the NYT, Yahoo, Google, or USA Today there are words that somehow find their way into these puzzles continuously. So, I have built my first crossword puzzle using words that I have kept track of when they continue to re-appear. I guess these are words that help get puzzle builders out of a word-jam.
So, without further adieu I give you the Crossword Puzzles’ All-Star Word Team:
Because I know that everyone is too busy and tired to read, here are the answers too: Across 1. Opal 3. Tsar 6. Oreo 7. Eerie 9. Edo 11. Nap 12. Aloe 14. Psst 15. Eel Down 1. Ott 2. Anon 4. Aorta 5. Wok 7. Epic 8. Esau 10. Dye 13. Otis 14. PareAnd with that, I give you a “Case in Point” that Crossword building is HARD.
