MMeM, Vol. 9 Issue 27 – “The Dart” -what a name!

I see the Pacer definitely coming back…

So, there was a community out there just clammering for the return of the Dodge Dart? Yeah, I doubt it too.

It’s interesting how quick we can be to re-make movies and TV Series into “new” movies. Surely, that is done becasue then the new movie comes with a pre-loaded audience ready to watch what they already know a little about. It’s like making a movie with a built-in marketing process from the word “Action”!

But, I can’t really figure out the purpose, reason, or need to use the same approach when it comes to automobile manufacturing. I’m sure there is some residual sales from people reminiscing about years past, but it can’t be nearly enough to warrant the same approach.

But, while they are at it, here are some other former car models they could “re-vive” for their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th editions:

  • Plymouth Duster, Dodge Duster, Dodge Demon
  • Plymouth Volare
  • AMC Rambler
  • Ambassador
  • AMC AMX
  • AMC Gremlin
  • AMC Pacer
  • Chevy Chevette
  • AMC Javelin
  • AMC Concord
  • AMC Hornet
  • Ford Pinto

My prediction? I see the Pacer definitely coming back and maybe even the Pinto. The buzz created over such formerly crappy and exploding death trap would be worth the cost of production.
