MMeM, Vol. 15 Issue 25 – Phones
I know I am old.

I

know I am old. However, I do keep up with things like technology and the “latest and greatest”, at least as much as I can afford to do so. That being said, I like to leave my PHONE alone for periods of time throughout the day. I don’t know, say I’m walking to the restroom or stepping down a hallway at work, I will do those things sans phone! Yes, I am a rare bird in that I am NOT hunched over staring at my phone thumbing through it with every step.

It amazes me that more people don’t get hurt. I suppose I get entertainment watching these zombie walkers having no idea what or who is in front of them as they are completely zoned into their phones. It looks like they are in the middle of solving Fermat’s Last Theorem. Or, more likely, they are scrolling through Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. Either way, they are fixed on their phones!

Ran across a perfect cartoon for this moment in time, in my humble opinion.

I know my practice of “delayed gratification” where I actually leave my phone someplace and think of it as surprise to look forward to accessing later, is not practiced by anyone else alive today. Of course, truth is there is no gratification, thus it’s actually “delayed deflation”, but better to delay that deflation than being deflated while faceplanting.
