MMeM, Vol. 14 Issue 24 – 9 days

ell, it went on for about 9 days. 9 days of news cycles and needless time-wasting “reporting” that NO ONE needs to do or witness. From July 11th to July 19, 2018 the world was talking about a GoFundMe being started by “Fat Jewish” to raise a mere $100 MILLION to give to Kylie Jenner so that she could bridge the gap between her recently reported Forbes List $900 million net worth and the world’s need for her to be at $1 BILLION (said in a Dr. Evil voice). Oh the humanity!
I can’t skip my next question, “What is wrong with us?” Look, I know that people love certain celebrities and that’s great. However, as young as Ms. Jenner is, she’s more than likely going to reach a billion, if she hasn’t already at the time of this lowly post. Surely there are far more pressing needs in our world that could use our time, energy, and money rather than crowdsourcing another billionaire. Am I right? Is it just me or am I missing something?
I just went through all 9 pages of a Google search on “kylie jenner billionaire fundraiser” and the latest update was from someone on “JustGiving” in Europe that closed on November 23, 2018 (pardon, 23 November 2018 as they say across the pond) after proudly proclaiming they had raised £0 for the effort.
Bravo!
