MMeM, Vol.12 Issue 17 – Yum…uck!
For me, it’s not so much that these pods look delicious, rather they look SO effective! I mean, it’s so simple to understand! There’s orange for cleaning, blue or green for disinfecting, and purple or yellow for something that has to smell wonderful! I’m talking about the laundry soap detergent craze of PODS. Because, come on, it is asking way too much to have to deal with the messy haphazard pump gunk squirt gun dispenser. Or, GOD forbid, the stone age stories of POWDER laundry soap. Please!
It’s amazing that things just happen to end up so beautifully colored and classified…no, wait, that’s not true is it? This is all artificially colored so that it appears so simple and pretty and enticing to buy, or eat I suppose. You can’t tell the difference between real candy and soap in some of these pictures!
Sure, everyone is getting upset about little toddlers who get sick after eating what looks like delicious gelatinous filled candy, and who can blame them? I mean the manufacturers, industry, retailers, and consumers can’t stop themselves from making them look that way. Without all that tricked up “sugar-coating” these would probably look like exactly what they are, a squirt of brown blah harsh chemicals that and work well.
We’re all not much better, nor a whole lot smarter than hungry, sweet seeking, tubby toddlers when you get right down to it.
