MMeM, Vol. 9 Issue 37 – Phil to be indicted.
Well, it’s been an eventful week in general “NEWS”. First, we have MS implementing a pre-Bloomberg “spillover” to ban all counties and municipalities from limiting the size of fountain soda drinks. Then we have AL trying to pass a bill allowing for the display of The Ten Commandments in public and government buildings.
But today, we have the biggest and best news I have seen in decades. Punxsutawney Phil, the Groundhog who predicted an early Spring, has been INDICTED in Butler County Ohio for the “misrepresentation of spring” and “with prior calculation and design” by prosecutor Mike Gmoser.
Finally, news worthy of printing! Who can argue with this logic? This rat, err Groundhog, is GUILTY with this most ridiculous Winter ever. This Winter never wants to end and to be quite honest, got a real late start. We are nowhere NEAR a Spring. Period.
My only question is how can this rodent get a fair trial? Certainly, Phil’s handler John Griffiths, will have representation requesting a change of venue. To where? Florida? Actually, that’s both probable and Phil’s only chance for an innocent verdict.
