MMeM, Vol.8 Issue 16 – Really?

…pursued to try to save money for the bankrupt government.

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not always the best financial planner myself. Please! I’ve made some real bone-headed “decisions” or more appropriately described as “Knee-Jerk-Reaction-Purchases”.

Having gotten that disclaimer out of the way and switching to the financial woes of the current U.S. state in which Midwestern Meditations is set-up, I’m usually left typeless. But this, THIS makes no sense to me at all. On the one hand, I am sure this action was pursued to try to save money for the bankrupt government whose credit rating is dropping faster than the skirt of a $5 hooker trying to make it after hurricane Sandy. Ok, no one should be surprised that a sitting Illinois governor wants to close prisons. That’s only the single best self serving and career move a governor can make in this state.

Then in other news, apparently people are killing other people in the “second city”, a whole bunch this year. See these two RSS feed highlights came through my aggregator just the other day back to back. Sure, we have to save some money somewhere, but maybe, just MAYBE this action goes against the other breaking news. I would also venture to guess that this action couild make the job of fixing the problem in the 2nd city a bit more challenging. Especially, when that news gets around that there’s fewer places for criminals to go in this state.

But, to be realistic what are the chances that said criminals even saw a story like this in the paper of all places?

Oh they will, just a little bit later than most readers.

Everyone knows they only subscribe to the evening edition! DUH!
