MMeM, Vol.11 Issue 53 – EL NINO!

Spanish for ….The Nino.

So it’s been pretty warm this December. There’s been record highs in the Northeast, floods and tornadoes in the Southeast and Midwest, and torrential rainfall in the Northwest and Pacific states. It has everyone thinking that Global Warmin.. err CLIMATE CHANGE has really taken hold.

But, hold on, no not really. It’s an old familiar friend. It’s EL NINO! And, apparently it’s an especially rough one this year. See, El Nino happens every few years and this year it happens to be extremely rough. It is due to extremely warm winds and waters of the Pacific which then disrupt the normal weather patterns across the U.S. and actually the entire globe as well. Don’t worry Al Gore enthusiasts, sure, Climate Change could be adding a few degrees to the issue as well, but no one is really able to be sure about that.

Anyway, whenever I hear about El Nino, all I can think about is my learned experience with this weather phenomenon which is this:
