E<\/span>arlier this Winter, pre-COVID-19, err at least pre-COVID-19 North American version, I would walk on the weekends at the local mall. Yes, I was a mall walker. Now, it is closed along with everything else. Anyway, I noticed that the mall was nothing like it was “back in the day” of my youth.<\/p>\n

The space that used to be a Bergner’s is now a used car dealership. Yes, there are now cars inside what used to be a Bergner’s. For the most part though, the mall is holding it all together as best it can. There are a few empty store spots and even some empty anchor stores on the ends, i.e. the old Sears. It can be sobering, but the old mall keeps chugging along, until COVID-19 anyway.<\/p>\n

During my weekly quests for 10,000 steps I would notice things along my treks. Mobile phone stores were plentiful in the mall along with seemingly endless mobile phone accessory kiosks and stands. On the second floor one could find the Verizon Wireless store right next door to the Sprint store. I always got a kick out of these two stores as I walked by due to the disparity in store square footage.<\/p>\n

Now, I thought that obviously Sprint must have gotten a heck of deal on all of that empty, open, and completely unnecessary space. I never saw lines of people crammed into either store, but as far as the proper store size goes, Verizon Wireless wins in that contest.<\/p>\n

Or, perhaps there’s something REALLY BIG coming from Sprint?<\/p>\n
