O<\/span><\/p>\n k, so the other day I realized that once again, I missed the yard waste pick up dates for both the city and my paid waste hauler. I’m not sure how the latter can even have deadlines for hauling yard waste, but whatevs. Subsequently, I know where I’m headed again, the local recycling repository. I remember my trip last year for the Christmas tree as it was also somehow “missed”.<\/p>\n I digress, this place is a mud bog on a dry day and it just so happened that rain had been falling in buckets for days prior to my trip this past Saturday. However, given my past trips to this place I was bound and determined to not ruin another pair of shoes, pants, or the inside of my truck. So, I got a BRILLIANT idea. I decided to put both of my shoes in trash bags before I ever left!<\/p>\n Now, I used these bungee cords to keep them up on my legs.<\/p>\n I knew that when I got to the dump, I had to get out and go into the “office” to sign some paperwork before driving further to unload my yard waste.<\/p>\n After driving about 3\/4 of a mile into my 5.4 mile trip I started to regret my decision to have the gear on already. See, I felt that I was losing feeling in my right foot. As I came to a stop at a stoplight I tried to undo the bungee around my leg, but for some reason I could not remember which way I had put the ball into the loop! Was it under the loop or was it over? As I kept trying different options, the only thing that was certain was that I was making getting this bungee cord off of my leg impossible.<\/p>\n Anyway, I made it to the dump, waded my way to the “office” and proudly showed off my waders as I signed in and announced, “Yeah, I’ve been here before and this time I came prepared!”<\/p>\n Once I moved my truck to the heap of water logged crap to throw my crap on top of the edge of it a woman saw my waders. “Oh my gosh that is awesome, what a great idea! I’m going to laugh about that all day long!” I said, “That’s my primary reason for doing it, getting a laugh!”<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/MMeM_v15i23d.jpg\")
