First, it&#8217;s a cornucopia of complexity for the neophyte user types and generally they shy away so much they find other means. Then there are the majority of users who dabble, experiment, and have flashes of self amazement and wonder. This is dangerous. It gives said user unfounded confidence and bravery in this new world of technology. They become so enamored by the new shiny toys that they forget to take a step back and ask the simplest of questions that they were first taught. Does any of this, anything you&#8217;ve just produced make any sense at all?<\/p>\n<p>Look, I say all of this because I&#8217;ll be the 1st to admit guilt in this area. It&#8217;s so seductive, attractive, and addictive at times. Yet, it&#8217;s also very slippery and fraught with endless levels of peril and impending doom with one seemingly inconsequential press of the enter key.<\/p>\n<p>Take something as seemingly simple as text fonts. Who hasn&#8217;t scrolled through the endless versions of font variations on your word processors? From <strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif;\">Comic Sans<\/span><\/strong> to <span style=\"font-family: Wingdings;\">Wingdings<\/span> (Wingdings), we&#8217;ve all done it. Some of the more adventurous of those among us have even researched the meaning of <span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8220;Serif&#8221;<\/span> for the love of GOD! Yes, because we know that &#8220;Sans&#8221; means <span style=\"font-family: 'Arial Black', 'Avant Garde';\">&#8216;WITHOUT&#8217; &#8230;.DUH!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2031 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/serif.png\" alt=\"serif\" width=\"1379\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/serif.png 1379w, https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/serif-300x82.png 300w, https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/serif-1024x281.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1379px) 100vw, 1379px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ok, so basically <span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Arial<\/span> would apparently qualify as a Sans-Serif font whereas <strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', Times;\">Times New Roman<\/span><\/strong> would indeed be a Serif font. Great, I don&#8217;t care either but what is important is taking that step back after your done with your work so you don&#8217;t end up with a calamity such as this huge miss.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2032\" src=\"https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/fonts-are-important.jpg\" alt=\"fonts are important\" width=\"497\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/fonts-are-important.jpg 497w, https:\/\/www.midwesternmeditations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/fonts-are-important-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 497px) 100vw, 497px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>See, that is a problem now. Please have your just learning how to read grade school snowflake whose helping to fill the shopping cart for Christmas decorations shopping sound out that item for you. Use your words Ethan. ETHAN!<\/p>\n<p>This does appear to be a Serif font but when mixed with a Holiday theme, the designer has DERAILED. What&#8217;s more, I&#8217;m not so sure the Holiday Font File selected for this rendering was actually labeled OCTOBER instead of DECEMBER.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps a <span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">sans-serif<\/span> font would have better described these UL listed <strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">FLICKERING<\/span> <\/strong>lights but I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;press of the enter key.
