MMeM, Vol.2 Issue 3

So, I’ve been having some problems with mice this past winter. I finally discovered that mice had been burrowing beneath the drywall in my garage. I’ve had multiple mouse traps set in the garage for months and have killed a handful of the little buggers. The other day I decided I would try plugging up this small gap between my garage floor and the drywall.
I finally decided to use that expanding foam that you can get at any hardware store.

My brother had success with this product in the past when fighting a bat problem he had. But I digress.

I purchased 3 cans of this stuff and went to work today. I sprayed it along the bottom of the wall using a piece of plywood to shape the foam into the gap. Things went pretty well, or so I thought.

Here are two important tips I have since learned and thought I’d pass along.

1. Seems this foam expands for a few hours after applying triple the amount you actually need.

2. Also, and this is VERY important, don’t forget to remove the piece of plywood you used to apply the foam after you’re done.

Yep, it’s stuck and is now my example of Redneck baseboards?

My ignorance knows no bounds.
