lickbait. We’re all familiar with this internet malpractice. It’s when websites use inflammatory clickable headlines to get people to CLICK on them. The reasons for this are to get site hits, advertising clicks for sponsors, and general web traffic to otherwise content lacking websites. It’s been going on as long as the internet itself.

The frustrating issue with this practice is that seemingly reputable news organizations, which attempt to delve into the inter-webs, stoop to the lowest of lows by click-baiting. By reputable news, I’m referring to news organizations that existed before the internet. Not ones such as Yahoo, which has apparently thrown all click-baiting caution to the wind.

No, take the venerable NBC News who just the other day ran this horrible story. The headline would cause any normal person who can read to be struck with fear and concern only to waste minutes realizing the ridiculous perspective it paints. Why? Because nothing will be around to fact check this worthless CLICKBAIT of this “news story”.

Some scientists “figured” this may happen in 2 BILLION years, rather than 8 BILLION years. Furthermore, when the Milky Way galaxy collides with LMC (Large Magellanic Cloud) it will create a black hole devouring our galaxy.

Look, here’s the deal. Good for them. Tell it to each other and do some astrophysicists’ back-slapping but that’s it. We’ve got more than enough bad news going around for now. We don’t need to hear about something horrific that is so far in the supposed future that nothing will be here to experience it anyway. Please, for the love of SOMETHING, ANYTHING, just STOP IT already!
