MMeM, Vol.11 Issue 36 – Silver Lining

It was a mortal gut punch.

Two weeks ago, I drove 3 hours to attend my league’s fantasy football draft. I’ve been involved with this league based in Columbia, MO for 17 years now. Last year, my team led wire to wire only to lose grip on 1st place in Week 17. It was a great season and finishing 2nd was still very rewarding.

Subsequently, I was extremely psyched about picking up where I left off last season. I put a lot of effort into drafting a good team basing decisions on my theories and research honed over years of practice and experience.

For Week 1 this year, I finished in last place.

It was a mortal gut punch.

But, there has been a silver lining to this season already.

On the way home after drafting what would become my last place team, I paid under $2 a gallon for gas.
