MMeM, Vol.11 Issue 33 – Insecure

…misery for infinite insanity.

Am I the only person who is completely fed up, spent, done, and deflated by Internet-IT-Email-Phone-CreditCard-Document-Computer “Security”? I believe there comes a point where not only have the terrorists won, but we have beaten ourselves over the head to the point of having been bludgeoned by Robert DeNiro in “The Untouchables”. Dealing with our own security to do the most mundane and innocuous tasks has become excruciating.

Untouchables

It’s so bad that I’d rather not do what I wanted to do just so I don’t have to suffer the hoop-jumping that even the simplest of tasks now requires. I’m just like, “Forget it. Whatever I wanted to do does not outweigh the expected misery just to “do” it, whatever it is.

Negative? You bet. I am and I have become negative about technology today. Look, we all hear about the HUGE data heist and breaches that occur at large government and corporate data sites. That then fosters every possible tech anything to enforce the most rigid nonhuman security created by man. It’s like we’re all Terminaters now already in a full-blown war with Sky Net or something.

We can require that passwords be updated every month with the minimum number of characters including numbers, letters, special characters, non-repeating passwords from the past 5 used all we want. It’s not going to matter. Like I talked about a long time ago, you know those “CAPTCHA” apps you see on websites asking you to type in the “words” you see in the pictures above? Yeah, that has been hacked LONG ago. Those are worthless.

Let’s just get it over with and change to ID/security norms that require retina scans, fingerprint, palm print, DNA access or whatever will stay ahead of the terrorists for the next month.
