MMeM, Vol.11 Issue 6 – Took an IED hit!

Call it the Fatherhood of the Unraveling Pants or something along those lines, but I lost another loyal pair of soldiers yesterday. Fortunately for me this time, the soldiers’ passing was en route back to home base. They took an Invulnerable Enfetter Device, or IED (Seat Belt Receiver), to the side of the thigh.

Naturally, upon retreating into the barracks, I analyzed the damage or I dropped trou for inspection. The damage and the scarring of these boys wasn’t pretty or easy to look at by any means.

Allow me to describe the atrocities displayed above. The subject has not one battle wound but several. First, the most recent seam tear can be viewed indicating that the R outer seam was punctured and torn open by the IED. Furthermore, there is evidence of a previous battle scar to the lower left of this wound in the form of what appears to be an angle-iron corner rip which has been sewn shut by a previous M*A*S*H unit. All in all, these soldiers are the second set to be laid to rest this year.

Just like “WideLoops Belty” last month, these boys, call them “FrankenSIDEs” are to be put to rest.

The army of khakis thins yet again.
