MMeM, Vol.12 Issue 15 – Clickbaiting

…signs you have gut yeast.

We all do it. We all fall for Clickbaiting. You know the clickable links on any webpage that just SCREAMS for you to click it. So, you do. Well, at least, I do. I find myself doing this quite a bit. About 97% of the time, I get SO frustrated for clicking because inevitably I get slammed with horrific rabid-advertising-worm-hole-flashing pages that lock up my entire system.

Do I learn?

The simple answer is, no. I collected a few of these clickbait headlines this week to better illustrate my affliction.

This really isn’t anything new, rather just the medium on which it takes place. See, this has been going on with your local and network news programs for decades. The only difference is the medium, thus in television it’s called a TEASE. Subsequently, the local weather is the clickbait of our local news programs. It’s all the same really. Whether we want to know if it’s going to rain tomorrow or what Lita Ford looks like today, it’s all Clickbaiting and we’ll bite.

Well, I will.
