MMeM, Vol.12 Issue 5 – Make it STOP

Are you sick of it yet? Yes, you are. I don’t even have to say what IT is. In fact, as I just start to type I’m once again interrupted by another telephone call to my landline which is apparently only for receiving political, robo, polling, opinion calls. Yeah, I’m on the Do Not Call List and yes, I logged onto the site again to make sure it was still valid. And yes, I’ve now been reminded it’s only for “solicitations” and doesn’t do anything to curb IDIOCY and NONSTOP political calls!

Of course, I did what so many of you may have already done. I researched to see if there was any kind of political DO NOT F’ing BUG THE CRAP OUT OF ME List. Well, apparently there is…..kind of….with many many hoops to jump through. It involves a ton of legwork and checks and tasks on YOUR part, of course, but I’m told it is supposed to help. All of that is to say, one can do all of this to keep a crappy no good landline instead of just cutting the cord and never looking back.

Maybe, just maybe, it would be different if the now 6 people left apparently were, well, again, I hate bringing up the unmentionable topics here, sex, religion, politics, so we’ll just leave it at that.

Back to that supposed political do not call list. I have neither the time nor the energy to explain in detail the steps this undertaking entails. Just suffice to say that you do enter your phone number………and that’s STEP 1 of many steps.

What month is this? March? So, this is going to continue until November? Every 4 years? No, this has been going on for 4 years. Just make it stop, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

RING RING RING………..there’s another one. I haven’t even hit ‘Publish’ and what do you know, the phone is ringing AGAIN!!!!
